The palate is crisp, clean, and refreshing with a nice blend of sweet orchard fruit and texture from the fine bubbles. COVIDES Vineyards & Wineries was founded in 1964. It is Spain’s fifth largest Cava producer. Hard working winegrowers + sophisticated technology + an outstanding winemaker result in wines and cavas with an excellent price to quality ratio. Cavas are made with the same method as Champagne but is distinguished by the use of Spanish indigenous grapes such as Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Parellada which are given additional character by the distinctive Mediterranean climate and soil near Barcelona.
Bodegas Covides is the largest producer in Catalonia with an annual production of 25 million kilograms of grapes. They have 3 facilities, that combine the best of traditional winemaking with the latest developments that have won international awards for their modernity and efficiency.
Each facility has all the winemaking tools including pneumatic presses, stainless steel vats, fermentation temperature control, skin-contact maceration, continual cold stabilisation, and a selection of yeasts. This allows the Covides’ enologist to use her skills, knowledge and creativity, to instill distinct personalities to the cavas.
